The meeting spot will be at Evans Lookout at 9.30am. Evans Lookout is at the end of Evans Look Out Road which is a right hand turn off from the Great Western Highway just short of Blackheath and 84 km from Sydney. From there we will proceed to a number of other lookouts.
Govetts Leap Pulpit Rock, Anvill Rock, Perrys Lookdown,Mount York, Pulpit Rock, Mount Piddington, Mount Blackheath Lookout, Hargraves Lookout Narrow Neck, Sublime Point
A light lunch will be available in Katoomba at the Katoomba Cultural Centre which is located on the upper level of the Coles parking station. On a clear day there is a view through to Mittagong over the Wollondilly River. It would be an even better view if Mount Solitary did not exist.
The cultural centre also has a multiple screen slide show covering the Blue Mountains. The images are projected on to the biggest screen I have ever seen. A small cost $5, applies. It also has an Art Gallery.
After lunch if time allows we can cover some more lookouts.
Parking:
The Blue Mountains Council introduced paid parking meters two years ago/ Paid parking applies on streets where there are sign posts restricting parking timing. It does not apply inside National Parks or the Coles underground Supermarket parking area where we will be stopping. Since all our stops thus are exempt we will not be affected.
